Meet the Mares EOS light series!
A light is indispensable during diving. Depending on where you are going to dive, you determine the strength of the light. This has to do with, for example, the lightness or clarity of the water and the diving conditions. Night dives and turbid water require more light. Mares has an EOS light series, with 5 types. Rick tells you all about it!
Spot and flood
What makes the Mares EOS series very special is the possibility to adjust the light beam from spot to flood. Spot lighting is a very tight beam to illuminate a small area, flood lighting is suitable for a wider surface. As a result, these lights are not only suitable for extra illuminating, but also for taking pictures and/or making video recordings.
Varying light intensity
The number of lumens of the diving light varies. The more lumens the dive light has, the stronger the light output. The Mares EOS series is fully equipped with the lock mechanism, so that the lights can not go on by themselves. You can also dim the light if you find the light intensity too strong. All Mares EOS lights have a built-in SOS mode for communication with people on the waterfront.
Lights and travel
The lights are made of aluminium housing, so there is a nice weight saving. Partly because of this, the lights are handy to take along during a flight. The rechargeable batteries of the lights are easy to remove, so you can take the dive light in the normal baggage.
Mares EOS light series
Mares has a new line with multiple dive lights:
Mares Eos 5LRZ
The Eos 5LRZ is the smallest of the Eos line, with an output of 520 lumen and a runtime of 135 minutes on full power. With his adjustable wrist strap and tubular handle, this light is perfect to hold in one hand as you dive. It has a single 503 LUMEN CREE XP-G2 LED with lens and is rechargeable with USB cable: charging time is 4 h 30’ (5V1A adapter) or 6 h (PC 500mA).
Mares Eos 10LRZ
Looking for something slightly bigger? The Eos 10LRZ is a tad bigger than the 5LRZ and with its size comes a bigger output of 1100 lumen and a longer runtime of 150 minutes on full power. This torch instead spots a single XML-2 CREE LED with lens, and the charging time for this torch is 6h (5V1A adapter) or 12h (PC 500mA).
Mares Eos 15LRZ
Looking for something bigger but not too big? Maybe the 15LRZ is your perfect fit, with an output of 1580 lumen and a runtime of 125 on full power. Instead of one LED, this one has 3 X 1580 lumen XP-G2 CREE LEDs. The charging time is 6h (5V1A adapter) or 12h (PC 500mA).
Mares Eos 20LRZ
Need more power? The 20LRZ is the second biggest Eos torch Mares has. Like the 15LRZ, this torch has 3 LEDs with a max output of 2300 lumen and a runtime of 135 on full power. It also contains a charging time of 7h (5V1A adapter) or 14h (PC 500mA).
Mares Eos 32LRZ
The Eos 32LRZ is the biggest torch in the Eos line. This giant has a XHP50 LED and contains a max output of 3200 lumen! With that large amount of lumen also comes a runtime of 135 minutes on full power, and a charging time of 7h (5V1A adapter) or 14h (PC 500mA).
Mares 10RL
Aside from the 10LRZ we also have the 10RL and the 10RLW. The 10RL is the perfect backup torch with its 1000 lumen powered 12° beam. Like the 10LRZ it has multiple modes, but the beam cannot be adjusted. It does however have a runtime of 90 minutes and a charging time of 300 minutes.
Mares 10RLW
And last but not least, we have the Mares 10RLW, a great torch for photography and video. Like the 10RL, it has 1000 lumen, a runtime of 90 minutes and a charging time of 300 minutes, but with a 120° flood beam instead.
